The new capsule, designed for The Dropshop by Afterpay, captures the rhythm of basketball season while pushing forward RHUDE’s evolving sportswear language. In its official lookbook, the pieces appear in cinematic contrast set against golden hills, vintage cars and dimly lit blacktops. The visual story references Americana grit and athletic nostalgia.

At the heart of the capsule is a two-piece set featuring a structured hoodie and matching fleece shorts, both rendered in emerald green and cream. The palette, inspired by LeBron James’ St. Vincent–St. Mary high school team evokes a defining chapter in basketball history — the early days of a player who would go on to shape the game’s modern era. RHUDE’s signature Gothic lettering and chenille patches bring a collegiate edge to the design, while small details like Afterpay’s “$” logo stitched onto the sleeve to give the collection a subtle, playful nod to time, value and craftsmanship.

In the lookbook, a custom monogrammed basketball anchors the collection. One moment finds it resting in the trunk of a vintage sedan beside the capsule’s hoodie and shorts which feels like a road trip through basketball’s cultural memory. Another frame shifts to the court, where models stand beneath a weathered hoop, the glow of the backboard contrasting against the dark night. It’s a scene that captures RHUDE’s familiar cinematic storytelling.

There’s a fluid rhythm to how Villaseñor weaves basketball’s visual language into the range. The cowboy hats and horses seen throughout the lookbook create a striking juxtaposition — the wide-open West merging with the structure of sport.
