Rising producer BA The Rebel delivers a heavy thumping track “Catch-22 (Instrumental)” to this week’s playlist. He brings out the big guns with punchy boombap drums, moody textures with a weird woozy feel but still the overall vibe is solid.
Kazi gifts us with “Ohana,” a modern jazz/hiphop infused track that connects generations. From the spaced-out textures, rumbling drum grooves and prevalanet bassline and plucky tones, Kazi brings it all together in one cohesive and groovy sound that evokes nostalgia and eternal bliss.
Prolfiic and multi-faceted music producer/creative Steve Nguyen drops “Uzumaki” on today’s playlist. The track has a blissful and solemn feel and is brimming with mellow tones that evoke raw nostalgia from start to finish.
MidPoint‘s “Leaving” is a heartwarming lofi-hiphop track that is ripe with atmospheric pads, lush keys and a soft vocal sample that floats effortlessly over the soft grooves.
“rabbit” is a guitar-driven lofi/soul track from hardworking producer bad at math. As the title suggests, it has a plucky and , we dare say Rabbit feel but to me honest, it’s cheerful and cute like the animal it is named after.
The Notorious CPU and The Yume Collective are back with something new in the form of the track “Moon’s Little Song.” The record is bolstered by a sparse piano arrnagement with progressive chords, soft guitar licks and filtered drums and the overall feel is reflective to the core.
JACUZZI JEFFERSON and Paper Fairy team up for “Backflip” and together they deliver something refreshing and trippy. From JEFFERSON’s glitchy drums, off-beat plucks to Paper Fairy’s jazzy bassline, the track oozes raw creativity that goes outside the box.
Dutch producer Ordinary Rebel warns us not to “Don’t look away” as he ventures into our ear shot. The track is as menacing as the midnight air and oozes trepidation with a touch of suspense.
“Spaghetti” is the food-inspired lofi/soul piece from producers Simber and MALIWA. The drums are soft and play the perfect backdrop for the layered instrumentation comprising bright keys, plucky tones and atmospheric jazzy textures.
Kowhaii and Theo Juarez take us into the city streets in “Dans la Rue.” The retro jazz/lofi/boombap inspired piece is rich, cinematic and soul-stirring from start to finish.
Nec Nymbl enters this week’s playlist with Synnefa.” The title inspired by the Greek word for Clouds is an experimenatl track with off-beat drum groves, well-chopped samples with soft vocal chops layered throughout.
Eazy Phantom is a Pennsylvania-based producer whose story is quite interesting. From serving in the Navy to being homeless, couch srufing from motels to rooms and sleeping in his car, he still finds the time to make music that soothes the soul. His latest track “Reunion” is a solemn and nostalgic track that tugs at the heart strings with it’s sublime strings, bright piano riffs and overall soothing vibe. The concept behind the song is one reuniting with God after a long absence away dealing with inner demons.
CharvetBeats helps close this week’s playlist with “Moon Garden.” The mid-tempo off-kilter lofi/jazz piece flips a classic Biggie Smalls vocal sample and laces it over plucky tones, bright jazzy textures and soft bass-driven drums.
