OnePlus has introduced its latest flagship phone, the OnePlus 15, marking what it calls a “two-generation upgrade” with major upgrades to performance, AI capability and durability, become the brand’s most technically advanced smartphone to date.

At the core of new OnePlus 15 is a new triple-chip architecture built to prioritize speed and responsiveness, with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset powering the phone. This is supported by a dedicated touch-response chip capable of 3200Hz instant sampling and an independent Wi-Fi chip that strengthens connectivity in busy environments. A redesigned 360 Cryo-Velocity system handles cooling, using aerogel insulation and white graphite to stabilise temperatures during extended gaming sessions or heavy workloads.

The display also sees a significant upgrade. The OnePlus 15 debuts an industry-first 1.5K 165Hz LTPO panel, combining retina-level clarity with ultra-smooth motion. Outdoor usability is boosted by a high brightness mode reaching 1800 nits, while the screen can dim to 1 nit for low-light viewing. TÜV Rheinland Intelligent Eye Care 5.0 certification rounds out the improvements, with adaptive comfort settings for long sessions. Gamers also get a UAV-grade gyroscope with ±4000 DPS precision for steadier aim and more accurate motion control.

Powering the device is a huge 7300mAh Silicon NanoStack Battery built for longevity. OnePlus says it retains over 80% health after four years and continues to operate reliably in temperatures as low as -20°C/4ºF. Charging remains a hallmark of the brand, with 120W SUPERVOOC providing a full charge in around 39 minutes and 50W AIRVOOC for wireless.

On the imaging side, the OnePlus 15 introduces a new DetailMax Engine paired with a triple 50MP camera setup. The system includes a 50MP OIS main sensor, a 50MP autofocus ultra-wide for both scenic and macro shooting, and a 50MP periscope telephoto offering 3.5x optical and 7x lossless zoom. Computational upgrades add features like Ultra Clear 26MP mode, Clear Burst for fast-moving subjects, and Clear Night Engine for improved low-light clarity. OnePlus also claims the device is the only Android smartphone capable of 4K 120fps Dolby Vision recording, with LOG capture and real-time LUT previews. It’s worth noting, however, that OnePlus’s partnership with Hasselblad – as seen in the OnePlus 13 – is not present on the new device.

The new device runs OxygenOS 16 – OnePlus’s custom version of Android – and introduces a suite of AI tools under the “Plus Mind” banner. A dedicated Plus Key lets users save any on-screen content to a unified Mind Space knowledge hub. Integration with Google Gemini allows the assistant to pull from Mind Space for personalized results, such as travel itineraries based on user-saved notes, with additional AI tools including AI Writer, AI Recorder (with speaker identification) and AI Portrait Glow (for intelligent photo editing).

In terms of design, the OnePlus 15 features uniform 1.15mm bezels, a flat frame with rounded edges and balanced weight distribution. Finishes include “Infinite Black,” “Sand Storm,” and “Ultra Violet” – which uses a light-responsive dual-texture coating. Durability is extended through full IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings, offering protection against dust, immersion and high-pressure, high-temperature water jets.

Accessories include magnetic-compatible cases in “Sandstone,” hole-pattern and aramid fibre finishes, an AR Anti-Reflective Tempered Glass protector and a 10,000mAh 22.5W Magnetic Ring Power Bank.

The OnePlus 15 is available now via the brand’s website, with pricing starting at £979 GBP / $999 USD.
