NOT A HOTEL Co., Ltd. is expanding its portfolio beyond shared ownership villas with the launch of two distinct hotel brands: HERITAGE by NOT A HOTEL and vertex by NOT A HOTEL. These brands mark the company’s entrance into the public hotel sector with projects that span architectural tradition and future-forward design.
HERITAGE focuses on revitalizing historic architecture, carrying tradition forward with a contemporary sensibility. Its inaugural project will involve the renovation of the former temple lodging at the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Tō-ji Temple (Kyōō Gokoku-ji) in Kyoto.
Conversely, vertex embodies cutting-edge design and future-forward lifestyles. The brand’s first venture will be a hotel project in Okinawa designed by the internationally renowned Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA). This marks ZHA’s first-ever hotel project in Japan. The design aims to organically integrate innovative technology with Okinawa’s rich natural environment, with a structure that “floats” above the landscape to minimize environmental impact and provide stunning ocean views.
With the launch of HERITAGE and vertex, NOT A HOTEL is now offering the general public the opportunity to experience both timeless tradition and radical, contemporary architecture. Stay tuned for more information on the opening of these properties in the future.
