NBA YoungBoy announced the release date for Slime Cry about three months ago and the initial release was supposed to come at the end of November around Thanksgiving, but savvy fans noticed his relative silence since the announcement and in the days leading up to it and weren’t surprised when New Music Friday came and went without a new album. and especially in the last few days, fans have been skeptical about it dropping come midnight.
Tonight though, YoungBoy kicks off his 2026 with Slime Cry.
This one comes just under six months after Make America Slime Again dropped in the summer, which is the equivalent of a two-year hiatus from another rapper because of YB’s insane work rate.
YB has also created history by becoming the highest certified rapper in RIAA history.
