Summary
For the first time, Moncler and Rick Owens have focused their collaborative efforts specifically on a summertime wardrobe. Dubbed a “brucolic” collection, the designs draw unique inspiration from the intersection of Berlin’s monolithic brutalist architecture and wild natural landscapes. This gender-neutral range navigates the space between urban fringes and the outdoors.
The apparel explores volume and proportion through lightweight outerwear crafted in leather and nylon, alongside summery windbreakers. Signature Rick Owens aesthetics appear in the form of kilt shorts and slinky asymmetric jersey skirts, styled here with tonal hiking socks and Trailgrip Megalace sneakers. While the palette remains refined with black, dark dust, and vintage olive, the duo introduces a bold carnelian red for the season.
Design details like angular “Geocamo” quilting mirror the concrete facades that often inspire Owens. To capture the release, photographer Juergen Teller lensed an intimate campaign featuring Owens, Michèle Lamy, and Teller himself.
