Summary
When Kevin Abstract and Dominic Fike dropped “Geezer” just ahead of Abstract’s Blush album, the internet went crazy. Abstract and Fike are no strangers to creative collaboration, having connected most notably on Abstract’s ARIZONA BABY tracks “Peach” and “Crumble” (though Fike isn’t listed as an “artist”), and most recently, on the aforementioned Blush high-point, “Geezer.”
It seems “Geezer” has now taken on a new meaning; rather than just the name of the pair’s first official co-credited collaborative track, it is now the name of the Abstract x Fike collaborative unit, per Abstract’s Instagram announcement.
“Me and Dominic Fike made a band together, we’re called Geezer,” wrote Abstract in the caption. “Our new song ‘Doggy’ is out now everywhere.”
A press release echoes the same sentiment, stating that the duo is expanding upon the “Geezer” track, writing that the pair “have teamed up again as Geezer, named after the track they released last month.”
Geezer’s new song “Doggy” also features Blush contributors Love Spells and Truly Young. Fike and Abstract also teamed up as Geezer for other standout Blush song, “Maroon,” another masterful medley of pop, rap and indie influences.
Whether the two are plotting a full-length release as Geezer remains to be seen, but stay tuned as more information surfaces and stream “Doggy” on all DSPs now.
