  • Josh Safdie reveals Robert Pattinson has a secret voice cameo as an umpire in Marty Supreme
  • The uncredited role reunites the Good Time duo behind the scenes
  • The project precedes Pattinson and Chalamet’s upcoming Dune: Part Three clash

Director Josh Safdie has revealed a major “Easter egg” in his latest A24 drama, Marty Supreme: a secret cameo from his Good Time collaborator, Robert Pattinson. During a recent talk at London’s BFI Southbank, Safdie confirmed that Pattinson provided the voice for the British umpire and commentator during the film’s opening tournament scenes.

The director explained that the uncredited role came about naturally. “I don’t know any British people,” Safdie joked, recounting how he invited Pattinson to the booth to lend his voice to the British Open semifinals. In this sequence, Timothée Chalamet’s Marty Supreme faces off against Hungarian champion Bela Kletzki. This revelation also explains a viral “deceptive” result during a Vanity Fair lie detector test, where Pattinson appeared to hide the fact that he was secretly working with the director again.

This hidden reunion between the Good Time director and actor serves as a primer for the upcoming on-screen clash between Pattinson and Chalamet in Dune: Part Three, set for release in December 2026. In the meantime, while Pattinson remains off-camera in Marty Supreme, the project further cements the creative bond between Safdie and both of his high-profile leading men.
