Summary

  • The Fashion Awards 2025 nominees for Designer of the Year include Jonathan Anderson, Miuccia Prada, Rick Owens, Willy Chavarria, and Glenn Martens.
  • The awards will also honor top British talents and introduce the new Vanguard Award for rising stars in the industry.

The British Fashion Council is building anticipation for its December 2025 Fashion Awards with the release of the official nominee lists. Set to take over Royal Albert Hall in London on December 1, the ceremony will celebrate the fashion’s defining global talents, as well as homegrown designers based in the UK.

For the coveted Designer of the Year award, we’re seeing the industry’s biggest names go head-to-head. Jonathan Anderson is receiving recognition for his dual roles at Dior and his eponymous label JW Anderson, Miuccia Prada is recognized for her excellence at Miu Miu, and some of fashion’s most subversive voices, including American designers Rick Owens and Willy Chavarria, are included. Elsewhere, British menswear designer Martine Rose, represents one of the only English brands on the Designer of the Year list. Last, but surely not least, visionary Glenn Martens is nominated for his work at both Diesel and Maison Margiela, for which he has already received widespread acclaim for.

However, the awards aren’t just about the global stage; the ceremony creates a dedicated room to celebrate domestic British talents. The British Menswear Designer of the Year category is stacked with industry favorites like Craig Green, Grace Wales Bonner, and Kiko Kostadinov. Meanwhile, the BFC is spotlighting the next generation with the inaugural Vanguard Award, honoring rising stars like Aaron Esh and Dilara Fındıkoğlu.

And in a testament to fashion’s evolving values, Italian icon Brunello Cucinelli is set to receive the Outstanding Achievement Award for his commitment to sustainable luxury. With a mix of established legends and boundary-pushing newcomers, this year’s ceremony promises to be a night of high-stakes style and well-deserved recognition.
