New Jersey’s own Spits Nelson has carved out a unique lane for himself—balancing life as a dedicated family man, a hip-hop recording artist, and a true coffee connoisseur. Those three passions collide in his celebrated Good Coffee Club series, a project that’s become a signature part of his artistry.

With “Good Coffee Club 3,” Spits takes the concept even further, treating listeners to music that feels as intentional as a perfectly poured cup. Fueled by his partnership with Real Dope Coffee, the EP is rooted in culture, creativity, and community.

The 4-song project, produced entirely by $lim, flows with the richness of that morning cup, each track designed to stir the senses and spark new energy. It’s not just music; it’s a ritual, one that blends family, hip-hop, and coffee into something distinctively fresh.

Following the release of “Good Coffee Club 3,” we sat down with Spits Nelson to discuss the project, his inspiration, and how coffee and hip-hop continue to fuel his journey.

You recently hosted a listening event for the project’s release. Was this a first for the series, and can fans expect more events in the future?

The coffee shop listening was dope! I met a bunch of people who really loved the music, so I’m definitely planning to do more. I enjoy connecting with people in real life and sharing the art outside of the internet. I had an amazing time at Boogie Down Grind in the Bronx, and I’ll be doing another event there in November.

For most people, music and coffee exist in completely separate worlds. How did two of your favorite pastimes end up coming together?

I see it as something niche, almost like a boutique brand, because I have friends who are doctors, teachers, firefighters, and many other professions, and they love coffee and hip-hop. Riding the train to NYC, I’d notice people sipping coffee while lost in their headphones, so it just made sense! What are they listening to? Hip-hop is the number one genre in the world, so I think the connection is not too far off.

With the momentum growing with each release, can fans look forward to another installment? If so, what can you share about it?

First off, I want to thank everyone who’s been supporting me—from the day-one members to those who are just now tuning in. I appreciate ya’ll! Now that I’m getting more radio play and people are really supporting the music, I’m looking forward to doing a full album soon.  The EPs will continue, but I’ll definitely drop a full album. I have Good Coffee Club 4 & 5 ready to go, so I’m probably going to collaborate a little more with some other dope artists.  I’m actually shooting two videos with Ocho Visuals this month, so I’ll have some new material to share with everyone soon.
