Blending over a century of heritage with forward-thinking design, Raleigh ONE comes as the new e-bike for journeys in the city. And, while electrically powered tech can seem complex to the traditional cyclist, the English brand has simplified core functionality to make cycling more reliable for those everyday rides.
Hoping to experience these benefits, Hypebeast gears up to ride the Raleigh ONE to London Fashion Week for a full schedule of shows. To kick off the day, the editor secures her phone to the handlebars, downloading the rider app to make use of the built-in GPS as part of the Touch & GO connectivity.
With the e-bike charged up, she heads off into central London, where she crosses the city’s cobbled streets with adjustable assistance adapting to the needs of her ride. Despite opting for her favorite draped trousers, its integrated design – encasing the motor, battery, and lights – means there’s no chance of clothing getting stuck, and what’s more, the carbon belt drive means no worn chains or oil stains.
Arriving on location, the Raleigh ONE’s stress-free capabilities continue to deliver with theft alert, sets a security alarm, and automatically notifies theft attempts through the app. Waiting safely for her at the end of the show, she disengages the lock and wastes no time in heading to her next event, taking in London’s iconic views on the way.
Thanks to its 80km eco mode range, the e-bike eventually racks up a total of three shows, two after-parties, and one café pit-stop, with more power still being available for the next morning.
Follow the journey in the video above. The Raleigh ONE is now available to shop at the brand’s website or partner stockists, retailing at £2,399 GBP/ €2699 EUR/ $3,200 USD.
