Summary
Sony Pictures Entertainment has announced that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie Infinity Castle has shattered box office records, becoming the highest-grossing international film in North American history. It surpassed the 2000 film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, which held the record for 25 years.
In North America, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie Infinity Castle earned an additional $2.25 million USD in its fifth weekend, securing the seventh spot in box office rankings. Its total North American gross now stands at $128.637 million USD, cementing its status as the highest-grossing international film in the domestic market.
Globally, the film has also achieved remarkable success, earning $648 million USD worldwide. This makes it the fifth-highest-grossing film of 2025 and the top-performing movie based on a comic book, which outpaced James Gunn’s Superman, holding DC back from having a number-one comic book movie since 2008.
Notably, the previous Demon Slayer movie, Mugen Train, also held this distinction in 2020, with DC’s Birds of Prey being the second-highest-grossing comic book movie that year.
