I’m thinking about purchasing an analog summing mixer with the capability of adding inserts via the summing mixer itself (RND 5059).
However, I have a nice set of converters (Burl) with transformers on each channel the AD side, so I, also tempted to use HW Inserts in PT.
My question is this: using hw inserts in pt allows me to take advantage of the input transformers on each channel of the Burl, as well as mix/ match outboard gear to different channels without needing a patchbay ….but what will the cpu usage be if I were using 8 mono hw inserts? Would that many inserts cause any issues with Pt performance?
