‘CORINIAN’: TiaCorine Takes on Her Fully Realized Final Form

TiaCorine’s final form has been, well, finalized. Over the summer, we were privy to an early look into CORINIAN and her accompanying fully realized potential when we spent the day with the ever-evolving rapper for her Hypetrak Magazine interview and styling shoot.

Closing out the I Can’t Wait and Almost There trilogy as the final chapter, CORINIAN epitomizes Tia’s final form, marking what she calls “a more polished version” of her past projects, “a more final form of all the stuff that I’ve been doing.”

The 17-track CORINIAN is an immersive and, like all of her creative endeavors, highly intentional envisioning of Tia’s confident, unapologetic aura. At the time, Tia didn’t really know when the album was confirmed to come out, still finalizing mixing and making last-minute tweaks, instead discussing the album through the lens of her current artistic “character.”

“I’m my own character,” she explained at the time. “A lot of these characters I embody in my songs just stem from how I’m dressed. When I’m dressed a certain way, I fully embody it. That’s why I call them ‘characters,’ because I can fully get into [the fantasy].”

Singles “Ironic,” “Fall in Love,” “Different Color Stones,” “ATE,” and the JID-featuring “Backyard” all land on the final tracklist, with additional ambitious assistance coming from Flo Milli, Smino, Wiz Khalifa, and Pouya. Kenny Beats offers his hand at production throughout as well.
