I know the Camden is just a preamp and the SSL Six Ch includes an eq and compressor, and that’s the point: will I be compromising the quality – of the preamp alone – if I were to get the SSL? I care much more about the pure quality of the preamp than the inclusion of the eq and dynamics, BUT – sure would be nice to have those if the preamp difference is negligible.
Of course I’m assuming that the Camden preamp is at least as good as the SSL’s, but maybe that’s not even true? Just figured since the price is similar that that must be true.
I just got a U87 and need something that will be worthy.
