Summary
Bentley has unveiled one of its most intricate paint finishes to date, introducing Ombre by Mulliner during Monterey Car Week at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering. The hand-painted technique debuts on a Continental GT Speed and will now be offered through Bentley’s global retailer network.
The Ombre process creates a seamless fade between two colors across the car’s body, requiring over 56 hours of skilled craftsmanship by Mulliner technicians at Bentley’s Dream Factory in Crewe. Each commission is unique, as painters must react to the way different pigments blend in real time to achieve a flawless transition.
This first example fades from Topaz at the front to Windsor Blue at the rear, with the fade line following the GT’s muscular curves. Matching 22-inch wheels mirror the two-tone finish. Inside, the gradient continues: Topaz hides cover the front seats, steering wheel and instrument panel, blending into darker Beluga leather toward the rear, with Dragonfly stitching accents adding a final flourish.
Mulliner, Bentley’s bespoke division, will offer the Ombre scheme in three curated color combinations to ensure consistency and harmony. Customers can further personalize interiors through Mulliner’s Bespoke Studio, with options ranging from contrasting hides to curated veneers. Bentley describes Ombre as a fusion of artistry and precision engineering, showcasing how paintwork can serve as both a canvas for design and a statement of individuality.
