A highlight of Stuart Price’s 1999 LP ‘Darkdancer’ as Les Rythmes Digitales,‘(Hey You) What’s That Sound’ emerged as a stand-out example of future-focused electro-pop when originally released, with Thump including the album in their ‘99 Greatest Dance Albums of All Time’. Re-issued in 2005, the track is now transported forward two decades and given a powerful modern re-rub by Planet X founder Ben Sterling for a special 2024 flip. Known for his diverse sound, taking classic influences and paying homage to various eras of electronic music while championing a distinctly new school approach to house music, Sterling has quickly become a name in demand with respect from global heavyweights. This latest outing is a testament to that ability to merge past, present and future as he makes his label debut on [PIAS] Electronique on 31st May.

Harnessing the production’s vocals and weaving them amongst rolling percussion arrangements, zipping synths, and snaking bass grooves, Sterling’s remix ups the energy levels to transport the production to the heart of the dancefloor, showcasing exactly why the track has been a go-to record in his sets of late.
