BAPE is set to release a collection of photo T-shirts celebrating its historic partnership with the legendary photographer and artist Shawn Mortensen, renowned for his significant influence on music, hip-hop, and streetwear culture.

This collection revives his signature works from the 1990s, featuring three iconic photo T-shirts: The Notorious B.I.G.: Final Filming (March 7, 1997), BECK: Live at Aaron’s Record Store (1994) and BEASTIE BOYS: Between shoots of the “PASS THE MIC” video (1992). These images are selected from his photo book, It’s My Life… Or It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time, which BAPE published in 2002. Printed in the quintessential BAPE style, these shirts bring to life definitive moments that symbolize the essence of 90s street culture.

In particular, the photo of BIGGIE wearing a signature BAPE camo jacket, taken by Mortensen, is an iconic piece that remains one of the most talked-about and significant collaborations in the brand’s history.

The BAPE x Shawn Mortensen photo T-shirts will be available in limited quantities starting November 29 at BAPE stores and on its website. To mark the launch, the BAPE STORE Shibuya will host a special window display dedicated to Shawn Mortensen’s career and work, running from November 29 to December 12.
