Arc De Soleil releases his debut album Lumin Rain today via Maison Arts, introducing a cinematic blend of funk, rock, psychedelia, and world music that feels both nostalgic and strikingly modern. The project is helmed by Sri Lankan-born, Stockholm-based multi-instrumentalist and producer Daniel Kadawatha, who writes, performs, produces, and mixes every track himself.
The album arrives like a lucid dream – dripping with mysticism, atmospheric textures, and radiant emotion. It features previously released singles, “Sunchaser,” “Dunes of Djoser,” “Midnight in Saqqara,” and “Riders of the Moon,” each drawing inspiration from a transformative journey through Egypt that influenced the record’s sonic and emotional palette. At the heart of the album is its title track “Lumin Rain,” which draws from ambient, jazz, and reverb-laced tones, the track blends complex textures with Arc De Soleil’s expressive, echo-drenched guitar work. Speaking about the album, Kadawatha says:
Lumin Rain is about catching a glimpse of what lies beyond the veil of ordinary life—beyond this physical reality—seeing into a space of pure light and a great fire. It was inspired by an accumulation of experiences, especially my first trip to Egypt. The title means ‘light rain,’ representing divine light flowing into the world through us.
After selling out both a European tour earlier this year and a U.S. ballroom tour in fall 2024, Arc De Soleil is now on a limited North American run. He kicked off this current leg last weekend with a standout performance at Michigan’s Electric Forest Festival and will wrap up with an opening slot for Vulfpeck at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Following these U.S. dates, Arc De Soleil will head to London to support Leon Bridges at Alexandra Palace Park.
Known for his transcendent live performances, he recently announced a large fall headlining tour across North America, hitting iconic venues such as Chicago’s Metro, Washington D.C.’s 9:30 Club, and The Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles.
