Leading the release is Brazilian producer Welker with “Ice In My Eyes,” a confrontational indie dance cut that sets the tone for the compilation. The track hinges on an infectious, fast-cadence vocal hook that locks tightly into the rhythm, guiding every movement of the groove. Buzzsaw-edged synths, slinky melodic flourishes, and punchy percussion drive the energy forward with restraint, while a deep, rolling low-end anchors the record for peak-time pressure. The arrangement unfolds with a sense of control before delivering a final drop designed to hit harder than expected—sleek on the surface, heavy underneath.

Welker’s ascent has been swift and deliberate. After shifting from commercial work into the underground, his hybrid of techno, house, and indie dance quickly earned support from tastemakers including SolomunCamelPhatVintage CultureGordoMassanoInnellea, Adam Ten, and Max Styler himself. A breakout debut on Solomun’s Diynamic label saw him top Beatport’s ‘Indie Dance’ charts, following appearances on Repopulate Mars and When Stars Align, alongside radio support from BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong. Fresh off North American tour support for Odd MobMax Styler, and AYYBOWelker enters 2026 with headline shows in development and a major release lined up on Diplo’s Higher Ground.

Sharing his excitement around his involvement with the label’s debut compilation, Welker says, “Being invited by Max to release on Nu Moda means a lot to me. He’s one of the people I admire the most in the scene, and having his support behind my art makes me believe in myself even more. It’s truly an honor to be part of the Nu Moda family.

Beyond its lead single, ‘Nexus 001’ broadens Nu Moda’s sonic scope across its remaining selections. Josh Gigante and Ugo Banchi deliver “Kill Bill,” a dark, cinematic club cut that thrives on tension and forward motion, built with the urgency of a late-night chase and a hypnotic pull that refuses release. The track reflects the artists’ shared grounding in underground culture – Josh’s London-and-Ibiza-rooted upbringing and releases on DiynamicAfterlife, and Rose Avenue colliding with Ugo’s rock-influenced musical background and emotive, analog-meets-digital sensibility. Built like a late-night chase scene, “Kill Bill” thrives on suspense, hypnotic repetition, and raw club energy.

Josh Gigante speaks to the overall vibe of their collab, stating, “This track is built for late nights, heavy grooves, tension, and that hypnotic pull where you lose track of time. We wanted it to feel raw, driving, and made for the club.”

Describing the track in his own words, Ugo Banchi adds, “With ‘Kill Bill,’ we chased a feeling more than a sound: that rush, that suspense, that moment where everything could explode.”

Tel Aviv riser Mishell follows with “Desire,” a sharp-edged, acid-leaning weapon that draws clear influence from classic house while retooling it for modern peak-time floors. Known for his bold fusion of house, indie dance, and psychedelic references, Mishell channels his groove-driven, sexy aesthetic into a track designed for the late hours—punchy, hypnotic, and unapologetically functional. The cut aligns seamlessly with his wider creative vision through his Mess project, which blends music, fashion, and concept-driven club culture into a singular identity.

Touching on the inspiration he drew upon for his contribution, Mishell says, “I’d been missing a proper peak-time weapon in my sets. I’ve always loved those old acid-house bangers, tracks like DJ Pierre’s ‘ACID’ always did the job, so that’s where the idea started. I just wanted to bring that energy into something more up-to-date and true to my own style.”

Bulgarian tastemaker Pavel Petrov injects uplifting energy on “Feel Good Inside” featuring Tyler Hill. A driving force behind EXE AUDIO, EXE CLUB, and EXE Beach BarPetrov’s sound blends indie dance, tech house, and underground influences into a dark yet accessible groove. Built around a unifying vocal message and feel-good release, the track has already proven its impact in high-profile DJ sets—including plays by Adriatique—cementing its role as one of the compilation’s most immediate dancefloor moments.

Relaying the hype surrounding his highly requested ID, Pavel Petrov introduces the record with a key lyric from its entrancing vocals: “‘In the music we unite.’ It’s finally the one everyone has been singing. We all needed this positive vibe.”

Closing the release, DvirNuns teams up with DOX on “Here We Go,” a high-impact collaboration born from studio spontaneity and instinct. A Beatport chart-topper and one of the platform’s best-selling artists, DvirNuns brings his signature blend of psychedelic intensity and club-ready precision to the track. Built around a striking synth motif that quickly locks into a commanding groove, the record escalates with confidence—reflecting the pair’s shared ability to capture lightning moments and translate them into functional club weapons.

Touching on the stream of consciousness that led to the track’s creation, DvirNuns recounts: “This track came together in the most unexpected way. Once that first synth hit, everything locked into place and the energy took over. It’s one of those moments in the studio where you instantly know you’ve got something special.

Nexus 001’ delivers a focused snapshot of where indie dance and house are intersecting right now. Unified by a shared emphasis on groove, tension, and late-night functionality, the stacked compilation positions Nu Moda as a forward-facing imprint rooted in club culture—curated with intention and poised for global reach as Max Styler continues to expand the label’s vision.
