Summary
Following the success of the CRW-001 ring watch, Casio has officially unveiled the G-SHOCK DWN-5600, a groundbreaking “G-SHOCK Ring” that reimagines the brand’s iconic toughness in a radically smaller form. Dubbed “G-SHOCK Nano,” the new finger-timepiece is designed as a ring-sized wearable, distilling the instantly recognizable square case of the original DW-5600 into a nano-scale accessory that can be worn on the finger while retaining the aesthetic DNA of the classic watch.
Crafted with the same attention to detail as its full-sized counterpart, the DWN-5600 features a miniature resin case, digital-style display motif and the rugged, industrial look that has defined G-SHOCK since its debut in 1983. The technological achievement of the DWN-5600 lies in the miniaturization of its components, including the battery and the use of high-density mounting technology to fit all necessary parts within the limited space.
The watch features a fully functional 6-digit digital LCD that displays the time, calendar, and includes features such as dual time, a 1/100-second stopwatch, and an LED backlight. The bezel and band are made with bio-based resin, reflecting a commitment to environmental sustainability. The band is adjustable from 48mm to 82mm, allowing the owner to wear it as a ring or creatively attach it to a variety of objects.
Available in red, black and yellow colorways, the DWN-5600 ring-watch will release via G-SHOCK in Japan on November 8, with other regions expected to follow. Its retail price is set to ¥14,300 JPY (approx. $110 USD), a price tag that matches the standard DW-5600 models.
