Marcus Santoro and Lohrasp Kansara’s ‘Haunted’ Remixes EP via MDLBEAST Records.

Marcus Santoro is one of Australia’s most celebrated DJs and producers. He has clocked up over 100 million streams and shared stages with superstars, including David Guetta and Martin Garrix. Back in the summer, he teamed up with Swiss-born, NYC-based Lohrasp Kanasara and Johannesburg-based Mavhungu for ‘Haunted’, and the single continues to resonate with cultural richness.

First up on this new package, it arrives as a Sunset Mix, which is gloriously soul-stirring thanks to the rousing vocals. They rise next to a delicate sprinkling of percussion and spiritual pads that help lock you into a trance amongst the rolling Afro-house drums.

Riding high on his fresh blend of Afro-meets electronica is The Hague-based artist Chaleee. His tunes on labels like Doug Gomez’s Merecumbe Recordings have had plays from Grammy winner Black Coffee, and he serves up another gem here. His remix is deep cut and slow burning with a patient synth tension, the stunning original vocals shining bright and extra percussive dynamics woven into the magnificent groove.

Last of all is the club mix, which brings some class extra weight to the drums and adds more upright percussion to the grooves to energise the dance floor while also casting a soulful Afro-house spell.
