Summary
Danny Brown came bearing plenty of good news today. The genre-bending hip-hop musician announced his seventh studio album, entitled STARDUST, is confirmed to drop everywhere on November 7.
Spanning 14 tracks, STARDUST arrives as Brown’s first project since his Quaranta era, which concluded in October of 2024 with his most recent LP, Quaranta (Deluxe). Features on the new album come from Quadeca, underscores, Frost Children, Jane Remover, JOHNNASCU, 8485, IssBrokie, Femtanyl, Nnamdi, Ta Ukrainka and Zheani.
Brown kicked off the rollout today, dropping lead single “Starburst.”
In addition to the tracklist, cover art and release date, we have some info on the composition of the album, as revealed in an Instagram post that describes STARDUST as a record that will reveal “a new level of vulnerability and creative clarity” for Brown, as well as “a newfound lightness— sharp, inventive and unafraid to challenge conventional production and storytelling.”
A press release says more about the album, which also marks Brown’s first longform release since his sobriety. “Pulling from experimental pop and underground electronics, the final product is messy, emotional, and held together with a strange kind of clarity. Danny is the center of gravity within the musical world he’s curating and the link between all the artists and features, who have been mutually inspired by one another’s work.”
