Wallfella personifies Ireland’s pint ritual on new single “Blonde in the Black Dress”

Third single from forthcoming EP The Coop is Full, produced by Odd Numbers, out 19 September 2025.

DUBLIN — 20 August 2025 — Dublin rapper and singer Wallfella will release his new single “Blonde in the Black Dress” on 19 September 2025 via Golden Éire Records. Produced by long-time collaborator Odd Numbers, the track personifies a pint to explore where comfort ends and reliance begins.

The single blends hip-hop, funk and soul, carried by loose-swinging drums, blues-tinged guitar and soft-glow synths. It follows earlier releases “No Chords (feat. Flynn Johnson)” and “Smooth Wirreh”, and marks the third single from Wallfella’s forthcoming seven-track EP The Coop is Full (late 2025).

For fans of: Saba, Loyle Carner, Mick Jenkins, Anderson .Paak.

After a year that demanded family time and a reset of the creative engine, Wallfella’s return is deliberate, the sound of an artist who took his time and came back sharper.

Wallfella: ‘Blonde in the Black Dress’ came to me in the pub one day. I wanted to make a metaphor‑filled song about Ireland’s number one drink. The song treats the pint like an alluring character, the way any ‘muse’ can feel: comforting, social, irresistible. I wanted it to represent false hope, in the drink or any substance/muse really. It’s a seductive tune, but it’s also a reminder to clock what’s pulling you in.

“That cream so smooth, smooth
Wasting money on you
Got a pain in my head
Baby, it’s all cool, cool
Maybe I’ll meet you in the mornin’ (mornin’)
Need you to catch me when I’m fallin’ (fallin’)
Danger if I take it any further, ah well
Sure, whatever kills ya cures ya, cures ya”
