Summary
Not only is Luka Dončić a sharpshooter on the basketball court, he’s reached the Top 500 leaderboard in Overwatch 2 too. The Slovenian superstar is known for his love for the Overwatch franchise, having shown off his high placements before, as well as making the occasional livestream cameo. Recognizing his talents, Blizzard Entertainment has recruited Dončić for a new partnership centered around Overwatch 2.
The campaign was officially announced yesterday, with billboards now going up in Dallas, Los Angeles, and Poland (pictured above in order). Meanwhile, new content has come to Overwatch 2, with themed cosmetics ranging from a “Sharpshooter 77” title to a golden basketball charm for weapons that sports his jersey number of 77. New Stadium hero builds have been added to the game mode, with each nodding to his on-court action like “Fadeaway Fan” Cassidy.
We spoke with Dončić to not only compare heroes to their NBA counterparts (as seen below), but discuss his love for Overwatch 2 as well. While he’s not shy to express his dissatisfaction with referees, he shared that he mostly keeps quiet when his teammates make frustrating mistakes in Overwatch 2. He also shared that if he could design his own skin, it would be a red and gold look for Roadhog. “The most exciting part about this collaboration is having a relationship with the franchise. I’ve been playing the Overwatch games for a long time and to officially be a part of them now is special,” concluded Dončić.
Starting today, you can dive into the Luka-themed fun with the aforementioned cosmetics and hero builds in Overwatch 2. Stay tuned for updates regarding the partnership.
