Umbro’s “Northern Quarter” collection, which made its debut earlier this year, combines archival designs with contemporary Manchester style to deliver the sportswear pieces that fans love best. Now on its second installment, the brand delves deeper into the fabric of its home city for an eye-catching Fall/Winter 2025 line-up.
Drawing inspiration from the world-famous Mancunian music scene, this season the focus lands on classic silhouettes with prints that give a contemporary update to their designs. For outerwear, the staple Indie parka plays into the style of its Waxed Cagoule, available in a versatile khaki tone as well as a check version. The signature coach jacket also returns for FW25, this time adopting a fleece outer layer and Umbro’s oversized diamond logo printed on top.
Continuing to tap into its links with football, the brand delivers a short-sleeved jersey with tape-edged sleeves and a geometric light blue pattern, reminiscent of the 1996 Britpop Derby between bands Blur and Oasis. From Manchester City blue to the signature tonal palette of Manchester United, a Reversible Crew Top comes printed with a striking red, rave-inspired graphic on one side, and minimal black on the other. A series of monochromatic hoodies and T-shirts round off the collection, designed to match seamlessly with the range of bold jackets on offer.
In a new campaign fronted by local musicians Ellie, James, and Time Flies, the garments come to life against their favorite Manchester haunts, including neighborhood bar Soup Kitchen. Check out the visuals in the gallery above.
