Summary
Mercedes-AMG has pulled back the curtain on the CONCEPT AMG GT XX, a four-door coupe that previews the first series-production model built on the brand’s new AMG.EA high-performance electric platform. Packing over 1,000 kW (1,360 hp) from three axial flux motors and a newly developed high-voltage battery, the GT XX offers top speeds of over 223 mph and rapid charging capabilities that restore 400 km (250 miles) of range in just five minutes. Designed with input from AMG’s global development network and its Formula 1 engineers in Brixworth, the GT XX blends next-gen power with endurance, achieving repeatable peak output and sustained high-speed performance thanks to direct battery cell cooling.
Visually, the GT XX is as aggressive as it is advanced. A low-slung fastback silhouette is highlighted by sunset beam orange paint with luminescent segments, recessed door handles and a fluid rear lighting panel capable of displaying animations in real-time. Inside, the cabin strips away distractions with visible structural components, bespoke biotech leather from recycled GT3 tires, 3D-printed ergonomic seat pads and two widescreen displays tilted toward the driver. Functionality meets flair with an exposed AMG crest in the console, orange “high-voltage” accents and zero rear windows — all part of its performance-first focus.
Every element of the GT XX is engineered for speed, efficiency and future-readiness — from a bespoke battery architecture using cylindrical NCMA cells and high-voltage oil-based cooling, to active aero wheels that open for brake cooling and close to reduce drag. At the time of writing, Mercedes-Benz has not yet announced any production plans for the GT XX.
