Self Help unveil fuzzy banger ‘I Want You All To Myself’

May 17, 2024 -

Hot on the heels of their previous single ‘Enrage Engage’, Oxford five-piece Self Help return with the fuzzy banger I Want You All To Myself.

The band continue to showcase their diverse, expansive sound from track to track, illustrating why the likes of BBC 6 MusicThe Vinyl DistrictFortitude Magazine, Turn Up The Volume, Soundsphere Magazine and many more have supported their music.

Self Help’s DIY ethics and experimental approach to songwriting manifests itself into a hazy mix of psychedelia, alt.rock, post-punk and indie. This is demonstrated by the scuzzy soundscapes exhibited on I Want You All To Myself. The track opens with the dream-like, hazy vocals of singer Danny and are accented by an intoxicating mix of fuzzy bass lines, head bopping beats and jagged guitar.

The lyrics see Danny lamenting a love so near yet so far. We know the feeling all too well of staring across the sofa desperate to be in another room, things that are beyond our control getting in the way. This song is an anthem for the couple who needs time to themselves but can’t have it, the yearning is there, but so is something else.

I Want You All To Myself is Self Help’s third single release this year as they prepare to unveil their album, Enrage Engage in June. Following a short, self-imposed, hiatus from making music, Self Help returned in 2022. Their boisterous live performances and sweeping sonics lead to festival appearances and slots playing alongside SquidGoat Girl, The Murder Capital and Animal House. The band will support the release of their forthcoming record with live dates pencilled in on 21st May at London’s New Cross Inn and The Bullingdon Arms in Oxford on 28th June.

I Want You All To Myself is out now and is taken from the album Enrage Engage, out 7th June.
