A new podcast exploring the life and legacy of DMX is officially in the works.
The new series, Look Thru My Eyes: Becoming DMX, will be executive produced by 50 Cent via G-Unit Audio and presented by none other than Jadakiss, reports Deadline. The project is being produced in association with iHeartPodcasts and it will be available on all major podcast platforms later this year.
The podcast will centre on DMX’s early years in Yonkers, New York, long before he became well-known. DMX was born Earl Simmons. His journey as a young artist juggling adversity, ambition, and the local battle-rap scene that shaped his voice and reputation will be chronicled in the first season.
The series, which will be hosted by Jadakiss, a fellow Yonkers native and DMX’s contemporary, will include first-hand recollections from family members, childhood friends, collaborators, rivals, and cultural icons who were present during DMX’s early journey. The podcast seeks to contextualise the experiences and surroundings that shaped his artistic vision and philosophy rather than reliving his most well-known moments.
Veteran audio producer Drew Nelles (Crimetown, The Binge Crimes) will serve as showrunner. Executive producers include Noah Rosenberg and Paul Anderson of Workhouse Media, alongside Bruce Miller and Justin Baez—both Yonkers natives with personal ties to DMX and his family.
“DMX’s story is bigger than the music — it’s about survival, faith, pain, and purpose,” said 50 Cent. “Look Thru My Eyes: Becoming DMX gives people a chance to understand where X came from, before the fame, through the voices of the people who were really there. This is the story that shaped the legend.”
