50 Cent has mocked Ice Cube‘s poorly reviewed remake of War of the Worlds.

Cube starred in a new version of the classic sci-fi story which has been released through Amazon Prime Video that has been slaughtered by critics and viewers.

The film currently sits at 0% on Rotten Tomatoes, meaning not a single professional critic has given it a positive review.

50, while not having watched the movie, has also joined in with the pile on.

He wrote on Instagram: “0 % how you get a 0 percent rating. Nah somebody mad at cube. Now I’m scared to watch it LOL.”

The classic story, originally based on HG Wells’ 1898 novel of the same name, saw Cube play a top cyber-security analyst for Homeland Security, who spends his days tracking potential threats to national security through a mass surveillance program, until an attack by an unknown entity leads him to question whether the government is hiding something from him and the rest of the world.

The twist on the story is that the vast majority of the film will be set on computer and phone screens with the trailer showing most of the action taking place from a desk Ice Cube is sat at.

The rap legend turned actor is joined in the cast by Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria and The Avengers actor Clark Gregg.

Producer Patrick Aiello said in a statement: “The idea was organic. When catastrophes happen today, we experience them through our devices. That insight shaped the storytelling and tech used to create this immersive thriller.”

He added: “For the first time ever, a studio-scale sci-fi epic has been produced using a format that places audiences inside the action through the lenses of phones, computers, and tablets. It’s a visceral, first-person experience designed for big screens in a language and format that is now natural within our daily lives.”

Cube recently announced that he had secured a deal with Warner Bros. for a new Friday sequel.

New Line’s COO Richard Brenner confirmed the news in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, saying: “We are making another Friday. We just closed a deal with Ice Cube to write and star. It’s going to be called Last Friday.”
