Today, the gifted newcomer brother-sister duo Pitch Black debut their first-ever release via UK dance music icon Aluna’s new label Noir Fever. The single, titled “Metro,” is out now. Hailing from Buena Park, California, Pitch Black will usher in the third release from Aluna’s label that taps into overlooked Black communities in electronic music around the world. Pitch Black’s “Metro” expands the sonic range of Aluna’s label, cranking adrenaline levels to 11 as they deliver a massive bass house banger that follows the duo’s viral TikTok posts. With its dark, gritty bassline and haunting violin, the duo’s debut release launches them into the dance community with a track primed for climactic dancefloor moments.

“We aren’t just about jumping on the train that’s already speeding ahead,” Aluna says on discovering the duo via Instagram. “We want to invest in artists we believe in, even if it’s their first official release. ‘Metro’ is undeniably hard, and I’m so glad it’s releasing on Noir Fever.”

Aluna started Noir Fever Records as a key component of her holistic strategy of making sustainable and effective changes to the future of Black dance music. To Aluna, Investment in the recording side is essential to fostering emerging talent, and by focusing on Black women and the queer community, she aims to ensure that everyone is being uplifted. Noir Fever Records, in partnership with Empire, will work in tandem with her events company so that those who are being platformed will not simply walk into another closed door.

Aluna has toured as direct support for Coldplay, collaborated with Skrillex on his Grammy award-winning album, and saw her critically acclaimed album MYCELiUM notch her first Billboard No. 1 as a solo artist. Born to a Jamaican father and Indian Mother, Aluna champions Black and queer voices both behind the scenes and on the stage. The genesis of Noir Fever began following Aluna’s 2020-penned open letter to the dance music industry, rightfully making waves and headlines all over the world, calling out the lack of Black representation across the industry as a whole.
