Kiko Kostadinov and Fox Lab are back for a second collaboration, taking the partnership’s motor-racing-inspired details to the next level. The dynamic campaign shot by Jim Mangan features Jimmy Hill among other riders, wearing the colorful collection in action
Fox Lab’s technical and visual design cues are reimagined through the lens of the London-based designer in bomber jackets, moto jackets, paneled rib tops, mesh pocket tops, fleece hoodies, and more. Kostadinov brings bold color panels in red, yellow, pink, and blue to the mix, as well as distressed perforation — adding a lived-in character to the performance-geared silhouettes.
Complete with jackets, pants, and gloves, the collection is led by two full moto kits in a black and blue and white and red colorway. The kits are made from a durable nylon shell with mesh and cowhide leather details — in keeping with traditional moto-materiality.
Inspired by early DIY rider style, perforated panels shine through on the hoodies and sweatpants in red, white, and black. Elsewhere, the roomy overshirts made from heavyweight fleece take an unconventional approach. With an oversized fit, open sleeves, and a perforated hoodie, the garment centers on a large Fox Head on the back.
The Kiko Kostadinov x Fox Lab campaign conveys the artful side of the rugged sport, characterized by a feeling of tension and beauty. Photographer and creative director of the campaign, Jim Mangan, played an instrumental role in bringing the garments to life in situ. The photos draw inspiration from Mangan’s BLAST (2014), a piece created in partnership with rally car driver Ken Block, set in the Utah desert.
